Pennant is a boutique branding and design studio creating beautiful, meaningful work which adds value to businesses. Our name is borrowed from the pennant flag, as flags play a similar role to brands as symbols of identity and forms of communication. We believe a well crafted brand will allow you to proudly plant your flag in the sand, stand out and rally your audience.
Our approach is process driven based on strategic thinking followed by creative execution. We foster a culture of authentic expression, experimentation, optimism and learning. Collaboration is central to our studio, enabling us to put together boutique teams of talented creative individuals on a project by project basis. We build strong relationships with our clients, based on trust, mutual respect and having each others best interests at heart. We believe with open, honest relationships we can do truly great work together.
We love meeting new people and having a chat over a coffee so drop us a line and come visit our studio.

Scott W. Kirkman
After completing his degree in Visual Communication Design at the University of Newcastle, Scott was fortunate to be immersed in the world of branding early in his career at FutureBrand Melbourne. While at FutureBrand Scott worked on a wide range of high-profile branding projects across a variety of industries from sport through to education including ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, Public Transport Victoria and Pause Fest. Scott approached corporate design without the corporate attitude, working confidently across large-scale identity systems with the attention to detail of a boutique designer.
In early 2013 he joined forces with Spencer to form Pennant in pursuit of a passion for working with small businesses. Now on the other side of the scale, Scott approaches boutique design with the strategic mindset and thorough processes of those in a big agency. His work has been nominated for a Create Award and has been featured internationally online and in print as well as the twitter feed of Silent Bob.
Pennant undertake a range of in-house studio projects which allow us to test new ideas, learn new skills, keep our creative muscles flexed and have a bit of fun. MNML Thing is the first of many on going projects we have in the works so keep an eye on this space. If you would like to collaborate with us on a studio project feel free to get in touch.
